I'm not yet certain I want the legs blue on the one I have, I may opt for white. But I do want them distressed like mad, and a dark stained top. It's lovely and seems most practical with a wild little 3 year old boy in the house.
I do have three windsor chairs that came with the table but I thought of mixing in a few aluminum chairs to keep things interesting. And today Mary posted these chairs from Sundance Catalog.
Beautiful, right?! I mean, wow. Bad news, for me, is the price tag. $245 each. NO WAY would the hubby agree to paying that for a metal chair he can't recline in. You get the point.
So I had some searching to do, and *drum roll please*...
$79 each
on sale from $99 each.
I got the okay to order them because Travis likes them too!
So my question now is, order four to have all matching chairs around the farm table I am determined to finish this Spring just as soon as the frigid temperatures subside and the garage doesn't feel like an icebox. OR, order two and place them on one side together while placing a windsor chair on the opposite side, and one on each end.

I say order all four, it will give the dining table a nice symmetrical look, just like the country living pic. What a great find!
ReplyDeleteif you have 4 windsors - you could order two metal and have the metal chairs at the heads (head and foot? ) of the table and the windsor on both sides.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of mixing it up a bit, so *I* would order 2 and try it with a mixture of the two styles. If you change your mind, you could always order more later!

I would order 4 so if in the future you want them they will all be the same. If you don't use them now an extra couple of chairs will always come in handy and you can't beat the price.

ReplyDeleteThe name of your post caught my eye immediately! I have had my eyes peeled for those chairs on the cheap for a while. The only place I could find them sold them for $250 a piece! Yowzy! That is WAY too much money for a single chair. But that is so cool that you found them for just under $80! That is quite a steal. :)
If I were you, I would consider buying four. You could put a Windsor chair on each end, and two metal chairs on each side of the table facing each other. But no matter what you do, this is going to be beautiful! :) I can't wait to see what you decide.

Oh, I love that table. I would order the four metal ones. The rustic table with metal idea I love.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, I would do the four stainless chairs (which I LOVE by the way) around the table and then I would do the two Windsor chairs on the end. I can't wait to see it all finished!
